Project Overview

Flemington Road Shared Path is situated between Well Station Dr and Northbourne Ave in Mitchell, ACT. A 2km section of shared path was constructed to provide cyclist and pedestrian access along the roadway and to EPIC, Canberra Park Resort, light rail stations, Mitchell Resource Centre and a number of commercial businesses. The project involved asphalt paving, stormwater upgrades, tactile ground surface indicators, kerbs, lighting, traffic signals, removal of existing concrete, handrailing, landscape, road signage and pavement marking. The project was delivered in close consultation with major stakeholders in the area to coordinate traffic management, light rail activities, intersection closures and nightworks. The project featured significant soft and hard landscaping elements, including native planting, grassing, trees and stone retaining walls.

Complex completed the project ahead of schedule without any environmental, safety or quality non- conformances
